MELANCHOLIA

The TH/FX MELANCHOLIA is a hybrid monophonic desktop synthesizer with a big sound — but it is as small as a stompbox. It is based on a pulse wave modulated oscillator routed through a resonant low pass filter.

There are different ways to control the massive tonality of the MELANCHOLIA, either through light dependent resistors (LDRs) or through LED control via Vactrols (LEDs and LDRs combined). The cutoff, pitch, (oscillation) speed, modulation, and resonance pots let you control the device’s sound as you are used to with other synths.

The basic tuning (TUNING) and pulse wave modulation (PWM) pots enable you to define the sound basis of the MELANCHOLIA in detail.

The icing on the cake is the optional one shot mode and the optional use of the light dependent resistors, which let you achive a droning wah effect by controlling the amount of light hitting the LDRs.

On top, you can control the synthesizer with your sequencer by plugging it into the rear side CV and GATE jacks.

The MELANCHOLIA is a touring friendly and highly intuitive synthesizer with a massive in-your-face sound — put it in your modulation and distortion chain and you are good to go to build even higher walls of sound.

TWO YEARS TH/FX

Even though we are currently slowed down by some life challenges — we are celebrating our birthday today!

We started on May 21st 2021 and we have been officially live for two years now. We are still at the starting point and are really looking forward to what’s to come.

We want to thank all of you who helped us out, send us honest feedback, had conversations with us about crafting diy gear, expressed interest in collabs and making demos, bought our devices, let us create custom devices for you, shared our devices on social media paired with warm words, and last but not least our suppliers who backed us in this still unstable time with the high quality parts we need to build our stuff. You all made it possible that we can go on.

Thank you so much for your support!

TH/FX NOISEDEVICES, Kevin & Niels.

RITA’S CRACKED POINTE SHOE

The RITA’S CRACKED POINTE SHOE is a collaboration between TH/FX NOISEDEVICES and Sam McKinlay of THE RITA. It is intended to be used as a handheld device and the effect’s intensity can be controlled continously variable via a pot. Use it like Sam in its raw state to create THE RITA aesthetic, or send it adjusted through your effects chain to build some ominous walls of sound.

FIRST ANNIVERSARY — THANK YOU!

Today we celebrate our 1st anniversary! Again, we want to say THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who helped us out, send us honest feedback, had conversations with us about crafting DIY gear, expressed interest in collabs and making demos, bought our devices, let us create custom devices for you, shared our devices on social media paired with warm words, and last but not least, our suppliers who backed us in this still unstable time with the high quality parts we need to build our stuff.

Considering how many great pedal builders and companies are out there, we are very happy about every person who likes what we do. We really appreciate your support — we don’t take it for granted!

After these twelve month we are still at the starting point and are really looking forward to what’s to come.

Hugs and kisses!

TH/FX NOISEDEVICES, Kevin & Niels.

BAIKAL

The »BAIKAL« is a hybrid monophonic desktop synthesizer that offers the best of both analog and digital worlds. At the moment this is a one of a kind for sale, but if there is interest, we will consider releasing a small series of it — hit us up!

It is designed in two halves — the main circuit board is all digital, generating various sound sources, mixing and treatment options, envelopes, LFOs, and a 16-step sequencer and arpeggiator. It is equipped with an 16-line by 2-character LCD display, an encoder pot to navigate through parameters/pages shown on the display, four pots to modify the synthesis parameters, and six push buttons to cycle between groups of related pages, to switch between the synthesis pages and the sequencer/system pages, and to load and recall presets.

The all analog LP2 filter plus delay board forms the second half of the BAIKAL. It combines a raw OTA-C 2-pole filter with a classic lo-fi delay. It contains the voltage-controlled filter and amplifier, and has the ability to treat external audio.

VOXVORTEX

New device! The »VOXVORTEX« is a vocal noise machine with optional bright or dark reverb going into our own massive »SPUTNIK« fuzz.

100% handmade, best metal parts, no cheap plastics, unique design, etched enclosure.

Follow the fresh project Vorare (members of Fawn Limbs, Sulphur Nurse, Mireplaner, and more) for updates on new music in which the first »VOXVORTEX« is involved.

RITA’S CRACKED POINTE SHOE

We had the pleasure to develop, design, and build this special Geiger counter imitating device named RITA’S CRACKED POINTE SHOE for THE RITA.

»Noise generator custom designed to replicate the recent THE RITA Richard III and W.I.S.P. recordings which were all otherwise constructed via pre-recorded source sounds and bias heavy fuzz pedals. Beautiful work by TH/FX NOISEDEVICES.« — THE RITA

It can be used as a handheld device, has one killswitch, and one push button to control the speed of the Geiger counter sound. 100% handmade, best metal parts, no cheap plastics, unique design, etched enclosure.

KING RICHARD III by THE RITA coming soon from FOUL PREY.

THE BOOSTED PIGEON /3

We built another »BOOSTED PIGEON« for Andi from Nuremberg. It is an original LM308 powered R*T circuit as near as possible to the 70’s original. You can also choose between harsh LED clipping and the LOUD! lift off setting via switch.

With the optional booster you have the ability to drive it even harder — set to max the booster itself blends massive dirt into the signal.

We have only two LM308s left in stock and every »BOOSTED PIGEON« will have an individual etched enclosure. So hit us up if interested.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!

We started on 21/05/21 and we have been officially live for seven month today. It wasn’t the best time for lifting this passion into a business. Most of the time we couldn’t see each other in person and had to deal with things online, but anyways …

We want to thank all of you who helped us out, send us honest feedback, had conversations with us about crafting DIY gear, expressed interest in collabs and making demos, bought our devices, let us create custom devices for you, shared our devices on social media paired with warm words, and last but not least our suppliers who backed us in this unstable time with the high quality parts we need to build our stuff. You all made it possible that we can go on in the next year.

After these seven month we are still at the starting point and are really looking forward to what’s to come in 2022. So keep taking care of each other, show solidary with people in need, smash fascism, and support your local scene.

See you next year — hugs and kisses!
TH/FX NOISEDEVICES, Kevin & Niels.

PS: We put the next device we are releasing already in the post — maybe you can spot it.
